Canon Lewis Memorial Hall

The Rev Arthur T Lewis was Vicar of Resolven between 1940 and 1966. The present church hall is named in his memory and Julie Hicks has found a picture of the opening day in May 1965. Can anyone name any of the people in the photograph?

My mane is David Thomas and I live in Poole, Dorset. I can identify two of the people on the photograph as being two of my uncles. The second from the left in the top row is Charlie Funning and the fourth from the left in the same row is Eddie Thomas.

Rev Arthur T Lewis was my husbands Great Uncle. I would love to find out a little bit more about his family and what happened to him after he left Resolven. If any body remembers him and can fill in any information such as who his children were, when he died and where he is buried I would be very grateful.

The two people on the left at the front are Dilys and her husband (can't remember his first name). I think their surname was Evans. Dilys ran the little shop near the Ton - the bus stop was right outside. They lived just down the road in Neath Road, a few houses away from Jersualem chapel.

As far as I know Rev Lewis had no children - but I might be wrong there.
